DIURETIC

Bottle x 10 and 50 ml.

Formula:
Each 100 ml contains: Furosemide 5.00 g.

Action:
This product is a diuretic and saluretic characterized pharmacodynamically by: 1- Rapid onset and short duration of diuresis. Its action does not extend beyond what is intended. 2- Pharmacological activity across the entire functional area of the nephron: proximal tubule, distal tubule and the ascending segment of the loop of Henle. 3- By adjusting dose, intervals and route of administration, the amount and duration of diuresis can be regulated, with a correct dose-response relationship and a range from minimum to maximum dose that can be increased up to 10-fold. 4- Marked selectivity in the elimination of electrolytes, with an optimal Na/K balance, practically does not cause hypokalemia. 5- At very high doses and administered over very prolonged periods it has shown excellent tolerance. 6- In the distal tubule it produces diuresis both in acidosis and alkalosis, has no inhibitory effect on carbonic anhydrase, does not influence aldosterone activity nor alter carbohydrate metabolism. 7- Can be administered to large and small animals.
