Triamcinolona Hampton
INFLAMMATION TREATMENT - INJECTABLE SUSPENSION
5 Bottles x 5ml / Bottle x 20 ml
Formula:
Aqueous suspension of: Triamcinolone Acetonide 6 mg/ml.
Indications | Target species:
Indicated for dogs, cats and
sport horses: a) Symptomatic treatment of arthritis and related disorders,
mainly traumatic arthritis and tenosynovitis. b) In the management of dermatological
disorders and in the treatment of allergic reactions.
Dosage:
Dogs and cats: A single IM or SC injection of 0.016 to 0.033 ml (0.11 to 0.22 mg/kg body weight) for
allergy and arthritis, and 0.033 ml (0.22 mg/kg body weight) in dermatological disorders. The
effects of triamcinolone generally persist for 7 to 15 days. If symptoms continue after that
period, the dose may be repeated or oral therapy used instead. For intralesional injections
the usual dose is 1.2 to 1.8 mg (0.25 ml) injected into the lesion at intervals of 0.5 to 2.5 cm.
In multiple lesions do not exceed 0.6 mg (0.1 ml) at each site nor 6 mg (1 ml) for the total
dose. Spacing out the application reduces pain and pressure in the area, which could otherwise
cause necrosis of adjacent tissue. It is preferable to use a tuberculin syringe with a
small 23-25 gauge needle to ensure dose accuracy and ease of administration.
Horses: Intramuscular and Subcutaneous: 0.011-0.022 mg/kg Intramuscular or intrasynovial: The dose
for intra-articular or intrasynovial administration will depend on the size of the joint being treated and
the severity of symptoms. A single injection of 0.16 to 0.5 ml (1 to 3 mg) is recommended for
dogs and cats, and 1 to 3 ml (6 to 18 mg) for horses.
